Hi Farazjan1. Nothing scientific! I worked at a shoe shop.
I recommended shoes and styles to customers, found the shoes in the stock room and helped customers try them on. I had to persuade customers to buy shoe polish too.
When it was quiet, I would be cleaning and hoovering the shop.
It was a strange job, because when there were lots of customers, it was very busy and time would fly by. But when it was quiet, it got very boring as there was a limit to how much cleaning can be done.
I say it is nothing scientific, but I learnt lots of soft skills which I use in my daily job. I learnt:
– how to stay polite when people are being rude to me.
– dealing with stressful situations.
– talking to people I’ve never met before and quickly gaining their trust.
– listening to people’s needs.
