I love that rocks are not static, that they have many phases! Did you know that pāhoehoe lava is erupted, it can flow upto 27 mph, which is only slightly slower than an Alligator running at full speed which is 35 mph. Then when lava cools it becomes solid and creates the rocks we find today.

Hopefully I can butt in here…I think the fact you can tell so much about the earth and its history from seemingly innocent rocks is pretty amazing
