Its fun and makes me feel alive 🙂 My mental health suffers if I stay inside too long. I think pictures and film don’t do wild place justice – it is not till I am really there, deep in the elements and natural wonder that I feel most at home and happy!
Being out in nature is the best! Fresh air is great to reset and clear the mind, I hate being inside too long. I love exploring new places and nature is so beautiful in so many ways!
I adore being outside, at least, in good or reasonably good weather! There are many things I enjoy doing whilst being outside, which include: 1) looking at beautiful views/scenery; 2) looking for and hopefully identifying living things, from tall trees to the mosses growing in the cracks of walls; 3) being around/near nature, listening to birdsong, the wind in the trees, etc; 4) being out in the sunshine (although I don’t like it when it’s *too* warm and sunny, especially in our humid UK climate). There are many activities which I like to do outside which I can’t do inside, such as fieldwork. I’m hoping to do some very interesting fieldwork during my PhD (a 4-year project at a university), which should consist mostly of plant and invertebrate surveys (invertebrates include insects).
I’ve always (since I was 16) been a very keen mountaineer, rock climber and skier. I just love the freedom that the outdoors gives you. The seasons are always changing and there’s the wildlife

The outdoors environment changes with the seasons and so there is always something new to discover and look forward to
